Joanna, Chip, SHIPLAP! If you know me, and I mean personally know me, you know I am obsessed with Fixer Upper. I tell most people that if I wasn’t a wedding photographer I’d probably flip houses and I don’t mean be like Joanna, I mean be like Chip, I’d actually grab tools and build stuff and possibly put Shiplap on EVERYTHING. So of course, on our way home from being in Dallas, on an evacucation (yes, I just used that word) thanks to Hurricane Irma I HAD to go to Waco and visit the Magnolia Bakery, Silos, and drive around the town to see if I recognized any of the houses from the show; all while secretly hoping I’d run into the amazing Gaines couple cause let’s be real #relationshipgoals right there… am I right, or am I right? lol
Waco is only about an hour and a half from Dallas, Texas so on our way down to New Orleans we managed to make a stop. Get to see a glimpse of what the Fixer Upper’s couple’s market looks like, because I am seriously obsessed and wish I could’ve bought everything and fit it into my car. Luckily, we now have the Target line to look forward to where you will surely find me stocking up on all their items.
You can see the silos from a far, parking isn’t so bad on a weekday but I heard that weekends get crazy packed. We went on a Tuesday so we were able to find parking around the corner from the bakery.
If you’ve watched any of their episodes you’ll notice they always show a building with an ALICO sign on it. I’m pretty sure it’s the tallest building in Waco and you can spot it from the silos as well.
Parking is Free around the silos.
I obviously had to get in front of the camera this one time to take a photo under the #milestomagnolia sign as proof that I was actually really there!
Walking into their store is like walking into a Pier 1 on Steroids! I didn’t know where to look but I wanted to take everything with me! Their SIGNS! I absolutely love their signs!
Of course, I HAD to go into the bakery. When we first got to the Silos their was a long line to get in but once I did my little tour of the store and walked outside the line was gone. We were greeted by a very nice lady at the front that handed us their menu so you can start making your selection on baked goods that you might want to purchase before you get to the register. That makes the process a lot quicker and easier for them I’m sure. I ordered the Shiplap, Strawberries ‘N Cream, and Lemon Lavender cupcakes. I wish I would’ve taken a picture of them but I was just too excited to eat them. My favorite one was definitely the Lemon Lavender followed by the Strawberries ‘N Cream.
and there you have it… this is what Joanna and Chip Gaines’ Magnolia Market at the Silos looks like. I absolutely cannot wait for their Target line to hit the stores.
